What is the history of the Internet?
1960's
1969 - The Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) creates an experimental network called ARPANET. This network provides a test-bed for emerging network technologies.
ARPANET originally connected four universities and enabled scientists to share
information and resources across long distances. ARPANET continued to expand, connecting
many more sites throughout the 1970's and 1980's.
