The Province of Treviso

The Province of Treviso takes in different areas with various caracteristics: mountains, hills and plain north to south. It goes from a few kilometers from the sea all the way up Mt.Grappa and the Cansiglio in the Prealps. The total extension of 2477 Sq Km is organised into 95 Communes with total population of 716000 people.

In the Province of Treviso there are many production companies, mainly small and medium size, specialised in the mechanical field, textile, furniture, construction and papermilling. The agriculture yelds white and red vintage wines and others typical products like the famous Radicchio rosso di Treviso (Red Treviso chicory). Traditional craftsmen still produce arms, bells, wrought iron, glasswork, ceramics, embroidery and fabric.

The main towns of the province, apart from the chief town of Treviso, are Castelfranco, Asolo, Montebelluna, Valdobbiadene, Vittorio Veneto, Conegliano and Oderzo.

The cities of the province hold caracteristic and ancient traditions surviving in today's events and in the activities of many clubs and associations. Numerous typical markets take place regularly or at local fairs and celebrations.
