Conference on History of Astronomy. The conference,
organized by the Italian Astronomical Society, Section of Histroy of Astronomy, will take
placeOn 26-27 of September 1997 in Naples, at the Astronomical Observatory of
Capodimonte, Via Moiarello - 16. The meeting is coordinated by Prof.E.Proverbio of

| 14-15 may 1997 |
International Conference in Rome: "Archaeoastronomy: Beliefs and
Religion of the Ancient World". On the 14th and 15th of May in Rome, at
the Accademia dei Lincei, Via della Lungara,10 an
international conference will take place on the theme "archaeoastronomy and beliefs
in the ancient world". A round table is scheduled during the conference the 15th of
May in the morning, on "problems of interdisciplinary research of archaeoastronomy
and ethnoastronomy". Most well known specialists will discuss the methods and the
prospects of these researches.

Exhibition at Treviso: "L'uomo ed il Cosmo". From the
19th to the 23rd of March 1997, at Treviso at the Casa dei Carraresi an exhibition will be
held organized by an amateur astronomers association of Treviso on the theme the man and
the Cosmos. The exhibition is mainly dedicated to the history of astronomy and it will
display several reconstructed ancient astronomical instruments. A section will be devoted
to archaeoastronomy in Veneto. In the afternoon of the 19th of March at 5,30 in the
conference room of the Casa dei
Carraresi a book will be presented with the same title of the exhibition written by
N.Notarangelo, G.Romano and E.Vanzin. The exhibition is admission free and will stay open
from 3 to 7 in the afternoon. |
